Students will be taught to measure, plan, cut and make up the cover adding piping or top stitching for a professional finish. Course structureThe course aims to provide the students with the practical and theoretical knowledge required to undertake loose cover projects successfully covering a range of processes including but not exhaustive of:
- choosing suitable chairs
- fabric selection
- measuring and estimating
- preparing a cutting plan
- cutting out
- fitting to form
- piping
- machining and over locking
- making up and fitting of skirt or tie under
