Creative Crafts for Christmas

Course content:
A fun, creative course introducing several craft techniques to create special handmade Christmas Decorations, Personal Gifts and Gift Boxes.
1) Develop a series of detailed drawings of decoration ideas using a variety of mark making techniques.
2) Create Christmas Decoration papier mache shapes and decorate to a high standard of finish.
3) Create embellished Papier Mache Picture Frames, painted and varnished including 3D elements as appropriate.
4) Decorate natural forms such as pine cones using gold dry brushing techniques for classy Tree decorations.
5) Create and embellish 3D gift boxes using mathematical net techniques/paper & cardboard engineering.
Course Structure:
Demonstration, practical, whole class, group & one to one student discussion, inspirational visual PowerPoints.
Course resources:
Newspaper, PVA & Spreaders, Gold Paint, Acrylic Paints (red, blue, white, yellow, black), Paintbrushes, Cardboard, Scissors, Stanley Knives & Cutting Boards or Mats, Powerpoint, Handouts, Pre - created Demonstration Samples, supplied by Lecturer.
Assessment:
Initial Assessments, ACL progress record tutorials, group and one to one tuition, ongoing assessment, summative course evaluation and plenary discussion / Q&A

Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
Some materials will be supplied, and costs max £5.00 depending on projects chosen by the student.
