Course programme
The modules in this course are designed to complement the work you completed as part of your PGCE, and build on the professional experience and expertise you've gained in your work as a teacher.
You'll explore theories of leadership in education, getting to grips with the challenges of change management.
You'll also develop a core set of research skills, considering research design, methodologies, ethical issues and think about the importance of using educational research to improve your practice.
In Year 2 you'll complete an Independent Professional Study, giving you the chance to explore a topic that's important to you and allowing you to apply the skills you've learned directly to your professional practice.
Modules
In Year 1, you'll complete three core modules.
- Leading Learning (20 credits)
- Practitioner Research (20 credits)
- Working Meaningfully with Educational Research (20 credits)
You'll spend Year 2 working on an Independent Professional Study that will empower you to reflect academically and professionally on an issue or area that is pertinent to your own professional development.
