About the course:
This qualification is intended for first line managers who have tightly defined areas of management responsibility, some opportunity for taking decisions and managing budgets, responsibility for achieving specific results by using resources effectively and responsibility for the allocation of work to team members, colleagues or contractors. You will be invited to attend a series of workshops to gain the necessary knowledge and understanding which is necessary to support your claim for competence and also prepare a portfolio of evidence based on your work.

Course Content:
Mandatory units:
  • Manage your own resources and professional development
  • Provide leadership in your area of responsibility
  • Allocate and monitor the progress and quality of work in your area of responsibility
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are met in your area of responsibility

Equipment Requirements:
Lever arch file, access to word processing and email.

Assessment:
You will produce a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates your competence and underpinning knowledge and understanding.

Progression:
You may progress to CMI Level 4 NVQ in Management (if your job role supports this level), or CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership.

Additional Information:
An interview with the Programme Manager is required prior to enrolment.
