Introduction

The primary objective of these qualifications is to contribute to the development of practising or aspiring port
operatives as a whole.

This can be done, where possible, by integrating NVQs into the organisation’s models for personnel and business development and recognising the competence of the people who make up the organisation’s
port operatives at these levels.

EAL’s qualifications in Port Operations at Level 2 and Supervision of Port Operations at Level 3 have been developed
from the national occupational standards produced by the Port Skills and Safety Limited.

The Port Operations NVQs benefit both employers and employees by offering alternative pathways and choice within pathways to suit the widest possible range of needs. assist with recruitment and retention
