This practical two-day programme will give delegates an understanding of how projects should be run and managed. Learning Objectives Delegates will be equipped with a range of options and methods to utilise in ensuring the effective delivery of projects - within budget and on time.
About this course
There are no pre-requisites for this course. However delegates should be in a strong position to influence or control the way projects are managed or delivered. The course is aimed at people who can instigate and adopt new techniques to their project management approach.

Portfolio management – green lighting projects, ensuring balance between competing resources
Project charter – defining the project and ensuring clarity about what it will deliver
Critical success factors – determining the critical success factors
Aims and objectives – creating clarity on the deliverables of the project
Scoping – determining what’s in scope and what’s out of scope within the project
Stakeholder analysis – working out who’s involved and who’s on the receiving end of the project
Project roles – the different people and functions that can be part of a big project
Team roles and types – the challenge of teams in projects, including Belbin’s team roles
Triple constraint – agreeing time, quantity and quality of a project.
Work breakdown – analysing and determining all steps and stages within the project
The DREC cycle (denial, resistance, exploration and commitment) – recognising the need for a human factors plan within projects as well a technical plan.
Cost estimation – how to breakdown and factor costs within a project
Time estimation – developing reasonable time estimates with identified margins
Gantt charts – how to develop timed plans for the project
RACI analysis (responsible, accountable, consulted, informed)– allocating duties and tasks within a project
Project closure – bringing a project to a conclusion, finishing and ending appropriately.
