Apprenticeships are a popular choice for young people aged 16 - 24 looking for on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage. Most of your training will be directly linked to the career you have chosen, gaining practical experience in the workplace, backed up by attendance at college one day a week.

An Apprenticeship in Marine Electrical Engineering will develop your employability skills and give you valuable experience in Marine Electrical Engineering and related activities. You will be working in a workshop environment where your duties could encompass many areas of work such as installation and identification of equipment, materials and components and the principles that govern the electrical supply systems used on leisure and commercial small craft. Your exact duties will depend upon your employer.

Where possible staff from College Work Based Learning will assist in finding you an employer and a place of work (although students who are already employed are welcome to apply if sponsored by their employer).

Your offer of Apprenticeship training will be dependent upon work placements being available.

Apprenticeships are a great option for school leavers who want to get straight onto the career ladder. An Apprenticeship is equivalent to 5 GCSE's.
