This class is dedicated to exploring the finer details of drypoint printmaking. Develop imagery using specialist tools such as drypoint needles and roulettes to create a range of line and tone. Compare traditional and contemporary materials and techniques using high quality materials such as copper plates and 100% cotton paper to achieve optimum results. Create a variety of printed effects using different inking and wiping techniques.

About this course

Use a range of traditional and contemporary techniques to make, draw, ink and print a drypoint plate.
Select the materials and tools suitable for individual needs.
Print multiple impressions to explore a range of inking and wiping effects.

A talk on artists will be presented and examples of work will be shown and discussed. There will be practical demonstrations followed by practical application. Small class numbers allow for plenty of supported one-to-one guidance and ample time for press access for printing application.
