Maths is an essential skill that not only advances our education and employment, but enhances our everyday lives. Our two-year undergraduate degree allows you to gain a Bachelor's degree and potentially a teaching qualification in only three years - at least one year fewer than alternative routes. Upon completing our two-year accelerated degree, you will be able to apply with us for a one year PGCE Secondary or PGCE Lifelong Learning Teacher Education programme. Alternatively, you can apply for a School Direct Training (secondary) programme. The key aims of our accelerated degree are to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of mathematical methods and techniques. Your study will include how to apply these methods to real-life problems. Our degree will help you to understand the main principles underlying contemporary mathematics. Here you will delve into the development of a variety of mathematical subject areas. Our degree teaches you to contextualise subject knowledge in relation to practice. This will be via specific and applied modules. Our expert lecturers will help you to develop your problem-solving and analytical skills, combining the expertise and knowledge from two faculties. We pride ourselves on a vibrant student experience, employing creative teaching methods and assessment techniques. We produce world-class research and have well-equipped facilities to support all your activities.
