Description
Provides in depth knowledge in those areas of mathematics, especially stochastic processes and stochastic analysis, which are central for applications to finance.
Provides knowledge of a large sample of mathematical theories such as statistics, game theory, econometrics etc., being auxiliary tools in economics.
Develops a good understanding of economics with special emphasis on finance markets.
Develops skills needed to work in a highly interdisciplinary profession, including advanced programming techniques, and communication skills across the borders of different disciplines.
Students will get the opportunity to spend a year abroad at one of our partner institutions. This is a marvellous opportunity to experience a different culture and, depending on the destination, to develop valuable language skills. Find out more about studying abroad:

Entry Requirements
A levels: grades AAB-BBB to include Mathematics.
Welsh Baccalaureate: Requirements are as for A levels where you can substitute the same non-subject specific grade for the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Level Core Grade.
BTEC: DDD plus grade B in A Level Mathematics.
Scottish Highers: ABBBC plus grade B in Mathematics.
Access to HE (Science): Pass with Distinction (to include 24 Dist, 15 Merits and 6 Passes) including 18 in Maths.
International Baccalaureate: 34-32 to include 6 in Higher Level Mathematics.
