Content / Overview:
If you achieved a grade D in GCSE Mathematics, this is a valuable course for you. Studied over one year, it is modular and will provide you with a range of useful skills for other subjects as well as for everyday life. Topics cover numbers, statistics and probability, algebra, shape, space and measures. Assessment is by exams at three points during the year. There is an opportunity to improve on some of your results before the end of the course. You will learn how to use and apply mathematical skills by solving problems both with and without a calculator. Whether you intend to proceed to Higher Education or employment, this qualification is a useful stepping-stone.
