Our BSc Mathematics with Statistics course will help you to build on your current knowledge and gain a strong foundation across the fundamentals of mathematics and statistics including algebra, analysis, probability and advanced calculus.

In your third year, you’ll be able to choose from a broad range of optional modules in topics such as experimental design, Bayesian statistics and graphics and networks, enabling you to tailor your course to your individual interests and career aspirations.

Our teaching is directly informed by our world-leading research, so you’ll have the opportunity to learn about pure and applied topics in mathematics – from string theory to meteorology – from academics who are leading the way in these fields.

Mathematics and statistics form the basis of many aspects of modern life and have applications across the sciences, technology, finance and management. BSc (Hons): AAB-ABB. Applicants taking the Science Practical Endorsement are required to pass.

MMath (Hons): AAA-AAB. Applicants taking the Science Practical Endorsement are required to pass.

Required subjects: Grade A in Mathematics.

Please note: A-level General Studies and A-level Critical Thinking are not accepted.

GCSE or equivalent: English Language and Mathematics at Grade C(4) (or equivalent).

BSc (Hons) - Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA)
This programme will meet the educational requirements of the Chartered Mathematician designation, awarded by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, when it is followed by subsequent training and experience in employment to obtain equivalent competences to those specified by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for taught masters degrees.
