Where is the course? Sixth Form College (The Angel, 283-309 Goswell Road, London ECIV 7LA)

What is this course about? Mathematics is about pattern and structure; it is about logical analysis, deduction and calculation within these patterns and structures. People like its challenge, its clarity, and the fact that you know when you are right. You will find all these aspects at A Level.

Who is this course for? Young people aged 16-18.

What do I need to get on the course? You must satisfy the general entry criteria for A-level courses which are based on your GCSE results general entry requirements for AS-levels
In addition, to study this subject, you must achieve at least a grade B or above in Higher Level GCSE Maths. All students who wish to study AS Maths will have to take and pass an initial test in July during their Induction Day.Click here to see a sample of the kinds of questions and answers in this test.

What will I study? Our AS/A level Maths courses are modular. Three modules are needed for an AS-level and six modules for an A-level. Each module is assessed by a written exam.

· Core Maths modules include topics such as algebra, calculus and trigonometry. All students study two Core Maths modules.

· Mechanics modules include topics such as Newton`s Laws of Motion, forces energy, momentum.

You take two Core modules and one applied module (Mechanics or Statistics) in one year to gain an AS qualification.

What qualification will I get? AS-Level Maths after the first year of study, A-Level Maths after the second year.

What can I do after the course? Close to 80% of our A-level students progress to Higher Education. Alternatively, you could choose to enter employment.

How do I get on the course? For September 2009 entry - complete a College application form, followed by interview.

How much does the course cost? Home students aged 16-18 do not pay the course fee.
