MCA Coastal/ Yachtmaster offshore Certificate

Many experienced yachtsmen and women aim to become MCA Coastal Skippers or Yachtmasters. We offer a preparation week for these two prestigious exams in order to allow students the best chance of a pass. We also arrange the exam for you back to back with the preparation course. The week is spent familiarising yourself with the boat, your crew and the Solent. Our instructor will provide exam tips and coach you in any areas that are weak. Please be aware this is not the time to start to learn new skills but the time to refine and consolidate existing ones.

If you are unsure which level of exam you are ready for then we would encourage you to take the preparation week. You and your instructor can then review mid week which exam is appropriate. If following the preparation you do not feel you are quite ready then by all means return at a lter date, we will hold your credit for up to a year. We pride ourselfs on one of the highest pass rates in the world and are 100% committed to helping you achive your goals. Both of these exams are subject to a separate RYA fee. Upon successfully passing either exam you may commercially endorce your qualifications.

Pre requisites;

Coastal Skipper 30 days on board 2 days as skipper 800 miles 12 night hours

Yachtmaster offshore 50 days on board 5 days as skipper 2500 miles 5 passages over 60 miles including 2 overnight and 2 as skipper
