The objective of the Executive Master in Events Organization, Protocol and Business Tourism is to continue training professionals and executives with experience in the sector to lead business projects focusing on the planning and management of different kinds of events (particularly benchmarking initiatives, congresses and conventions, incentives, trade fairs, business seminars), gain a firm command of the concepts of protocol and communication and public relations strategies, and generate tourism development in the quality business tourism segment, with the business perspective required to be efficient in terms of decision-making within such a globalized and dynamic sector, including the impact of new technologies.

About this course

Improve their executive skills:
Organization of real events: Students on the Master take charge of organizing the School’s events and protocol. In previous years, students at the Barcelona Campus helped to organize International Book Day, among other events.
Coaching program: Students on the Master has the option of taking part in Ostelea’s coaching program, which combines group sessions in a range of fields, such as emotional and family coaching
Tourism Skills Development Program (TSDP): executive competence development program.
Personal brand management: The program includes the development of skills in the field of personal brand management, which include learning personal marketing and employability techniques, in order to identify professional opportunities in Spain and further afield.
Stress management techniques: The program includes a number of sessions on stress management techniques, a crucial skill for any events organization executive, as their psycho-emotional balance is vital for effective team management.
Monthly conferences with department directors or CEOs of leading companies in the sector.
Extensive program of visits to trade fairs, events and organization: In previous years, Master students have been to the IBTM and Alimentaria trade fairs, the Dalí Museum in Figueres, the Port Aventura theme park and the TV3 charity telethon, in which they helped to organize the campaign to combat obesity. Students at the Madrid Campus visited FITUR, considered to be Europe’s second most important tourism trade fair and/or Fashion Week Madrid.

The Executive Master in Executive Master in Events Organization, Protocol and Business Tourism equips students with the skills required to take on the following roles:

Cultural events organization commissioned by private or public organizations and individual clients.
Companies that use sponsorship as a communication tool and need qualified professionals to manage the events that are organized and sponsored, designing profitable sponsorship projects from the perspective of visibility and return on investment.
Departments of public institutions at a state, regional, provincial or municipal level specializing in the implementation of cultural, heritage and art policies through the design, planning and management of events in this field.
Companies specializing in hosting events such as congresses, conventions and conferences

Events organization and business tourism company management in global settings

Strategic management of events and business tourism companies (9 ECTS).

Events organization: operations, logistics and quality (9 ECTS).

International marketing and protocol for events and business tourism in global settings

International marketing experience management for events and business tourism companies (6 ECTS).

Official and business protocol (6 ECTS).

International structure and finance of the tourism sector

Finance and strategic management (6 ECTS).

Accounting and budget management of an event (6 ECTS).

Talent and innovation management in global settings

Intellectual capital and talent management in global settings in events organization and business tourism (6 ECTS).

Innovation and the entrepreneurial mindset in events organization and business tourism (6 ECTS).

Master’s Thesis

The learning process of all the courses culminates and integrates in the Master’s Thesis, which consists of drafting a business project related to events organization and business tourism that enables the practical application of all the knowledge and experiences acquired throughout the Master. The project is carried out in groups, under the supervision of a tutor specializing in the specific area on which the group has decided to focus.
