  • I am really enjoying being being at this uni and i think my experience is even better because of the clubs and societies that I am a part of. I am not always happy with my lectures structures and this has caused me to have a few arguments with tutors here.

  • My experience here in my first year ahs been really good. I managed to secure a place in halls and was so glad to be here for the duration of my first year I feel that it gives me more security and a greater chance to connect with like minded students all on different courses. I know that not everyone has been so lucky. Accomodation is too exp though.

About this course

There is strong international demand for qualified mechanical engineers. Employment levels are high and jobs are well-paid. In 2013, the salaries of mechanical-engineering graduates averaged £26,583, rising to around £40,000 within ten years.*

Our degree will also open up a huge variety of non-engineering jobs. Many employers in IT, finance, business and education welcome mechanical engineering graduates because of their high-level numerical and problem-solving skills.

Graduation doesn’t need to be the end of your time with us. If you’d like to continue your studies we offer a wide range of full-time and part-time postgraduate courses including Masters in Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Systems and Additive Manufacturing.

Our facilities include a CAD/CAM centre, industrial-scale CNC milling machine, CNC lathe, rapid prototyping machine, scanning electronic microscope, Instron bi-axial fatigue-testing machine, tensile-testing machine, material-preparation facilities, welding equipment and electronic testing and measuring equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generating and testing facilities.

This programme is CEng accredited and fulfils the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer when presented with an accredited MSc. In addition, the programme meets the educational requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer.

Students completing an IMechE accredited degree are deemed to have met, part or all, of the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer and are in a strong position to move on to achieve professional engineering status after a period of initial professional development in industry.

What I would highlight: Mechanical designing is an extensive umbrella to cover however I feel I was presented to a sufficiently wide assortment of intriguing module themes that would come full circle in a balanced expansiveness of learning I could move into the future with. My time at Anglia Ruskin set me up for my vocation as well as helped me find it. It was a delight to think about there and in the event that I could do everything over once more, I would.
What could be improved: Nothing.
