In the media-dominated world of the 21st century, wars are won and lost on television, celebrities seem more familiar to us than real life friends and our identities mirror figures from sport, music and fashion.
You will be taught how to analyse the various forms of media that we consume every day, developing the ability to deconstruct advertising, film, television, radio and the press.
You will also undertake a creative project, applying the skills you have learned to create your own media products.
Trips to the cinema and industry-related places, such as the Museum of the Moving Image in London, are organised each year.
Entry requirementsYou must possess five GCSEs at grade C or above in English language or English literature (or combined English).
You will need to attend an interview with the tutor before being accepted on to the course.
