Digital Media (Level 2)

Interested in all things digital media? During this course you’ll develop an understanding of different media practices and how to understand media audiences – how to plan, pitch and manage a media production and the skills to allow you to specialise in film & television, photography and digital graphics. This course is an excellent foundation for you to progress to a level 3 course in Film & TV, Graphic, Website & Digital Design or VFX.

• Animation and Audio: In this term you’ll learn about the history of animation and a variety of animation techniques before embarking on your own stop-motion animation project. You’ll also learn about audio production, recording sound for TV & Film and work in groups to create your very own radio show. Alongside this, you’ll work towards planning and pitching your short film for Term 2.
• Short Film Production: In this term you will learn about the film production process, developing an understanding of editing techniques and software, as well as gaining practical experience using cameras to shoot and edit your own production.
• Photography and Graphics: In this term you’ll learn the fundamentals of Photoshop to create your own graphics such as logos and poster designs. You’ll also gain an understanding of photography and the inner workings of a digital camera in order to create your own portfolio.
