COURSE OUTLINE
It covers contemporary music technology with industry standard packages such asCubase,Reason andSibelius, music studio recording, digital film-making and editing viaAdobe Premiere Pro, print-based design utilisingAdobe Photoshop andAdobe InDesign, as well as critical analysis of both film and television text and the study of structures and practices in the media industries. Overall, therefore, the course ranges more widely than either individual Media Studies or Film Studies A Levels so students should be prepared for that challenge.

Future Prospects:
This course will prepare students to progress to a variety of media-related courses in higher education, especially those with a bias toward practical production components. It will also provide students with a working familiarity with the relevant technologies and prevailing software such as will serve students who wish to develop their skills further in a working context.
