Approximately one in four people experience a diagnosable mental health problem every year in Britain. You will learn to recognise the crucial indicators of mental distress and develop an awareness of the services available to help. This course gives you the knowledge and skills to sensitively and effectively assist someone in crisis.

Recognising the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues
Providing help on a mental health first aid basis
Effective guidance towards the right form of support.

There will be practical activities, quizzes, case studies, group tasks and film exercises. You will be provided with a take-away manual for future reference. You might like to bring a notebook and pen. You could look at our other one day courses or longer courses in health and social care.
