Programme at a Glance

Day 1  – Introductory day for ALL participants. Intended learning outcome: Critically analyse the purpose and context of the mentoring relationship within Dentistry

Supporting Learning in Dentistry - (ONLY for those participants who do not hold a teaching qualification) Supporting Learning in Dental Care Practice mentoring access course. This day will aim to introduce concepts, theories and strategies for supporting learning.

Supporting Learning in Dentistry can also be accessed as a one day verifiable CPD course for Dental Professionals who wish to develop or refresh some basic skills in teaching and learning. The date of this course is 23rd October 2012. Students wishing to attend this one day course can apply using the booking form. The cost for this course is £250.

Day 2 - Intended learning outcome: Demonstrate effective use of a range of communication skills required within the mentoring relationship - supported by actors

Day 3 - Intended learning outcome: Discuss the ethical and legal implications of the mentoring relationship within dental care practice

Day 4 - Intended learning outcome: Evaluate and support progress of mentees using a range of facilitation, assessment and feedback strategies

Day 5 - Intended learning outcome: All participants will engage in assessment activity to demonstrate achievement of all course learning outcomes - Supported by actors
