MIAS Level 1 mountain bike leader / instructor qualification is aimed at those who wish to lead groups of beginners in non-technical terrain (forest tracks, canal towpaths etc) at below 600m sea level. Suitable for: This qualification qualifies you to take groups of up to 10 riders off road.
About this course
In addition to the 2 day course you will also need Appointed Persons first aid qualification (or higher level such as First Aid at Work) as well as the appropriate insurance.

These mountain bike leader / instructor qualifications were first introduced into the education sector and are now widely used and recognised by independent mountain bike guides, mountain bike holiday companies, military personel, police service, youth leaders, scout leaders etc. It is the only mountain biking award to have benefited from a nationally recognised qualification from an awarding body, the Awarding Body Consortium (A.B.C.).

Assessment
Assessment is by contant assessment of your skills over the 2 days course as well as verbal questions and a written exam. The Assessor determines whether you are at Level 1 or Level 2 as a result of your riding adn personal skills across the weekend.

Course cost includes registration, logbook and certificate). Accommodation (either B&B or Youth Hostel) can be arranged on request.
