Learn to prescribe, plan and deliver safe and effective group exercise classes within a gym or health club environment. You will complete three units: Unit 1 Exercise and Fitness Knowledge Level 2. Unit 2 Health, Safety and Professionalism in Exercise and Fitness Instruction. Unit 3 - Instructing Exercise to Music. Suitable for: Adults (aged 16+) wishing to pursue a career in the health and fitness sector as studio-based fitness instructor. Individuals who have energy and enthusiasm, and would like a change in career, possibly leading towards becoming a Personal Trainer.

About this course
Full Studio Professional (with First Aid): Some experience of group exercise to music is highly recommended
Fitness Professional (without First Aid): As above
The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary.
There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved, and candidates should have basic skills in communication pitched at Levels 2. There is also an element of learning online involving the use of a PC and the Internet.
