Working with commercial felt hoods, hand blocking techniques will be developed to design a piece to couture standards, looking at trimming options and how to finish a hat to a high standard.

Course content

Level one:

Course one - Autumn Millinery: Working with commercial felt hoods, hand blocking techniques will be developed to design a piece to couture standards, looking at trimming options and how to finish a hat to a high standard.

Course two - Winter Millinery: Further development with felt and introducing other materials in millinery production to create hats that students wish to design and manufacture.

Course three - Summer Hats and fascinators: Working with sinamay and straw to create pieces for any occasion.

Teaching

Primarily by demonstration and both group and one to one work.

College information

You will be issued with a swipe card which you will need to access the building. Evening class students will be able to access the College from 5.00-9.00pm on the evening of the class.
