This course aims to extend your experience of mixed-media and composition, with traditional materials (pencils, charcoal, pastels), and the manipulation of collage, paint and paper relief. Looking at artist’s work and developing personal themes you will experiment with materials, processes and image-making, in an expressive and creative way. Some drawing experience would be an advantage.Projects may be interpreted in either an abstract or more literal manner.The course may appeal to anyone interested in mixed-media drawing, but also suggests common links with fine art, sculpture and textiles.

- methods of mark-making

- looking at artist’s work and selecting subject matter
- composition in 2D and relief.

Handouts, presentations, demonstrations, practical work, individual and group tutoring and group discussion. All materials are provided.
