Aims
- To understand the role of an instructor and their responsibilities
- To train the instructor to a level of competence
- To enable him/her to deliver the Instant Training aluminium scaffold tower training course
- To enable the instructor to assess the competence of his trainees in the safe use of aluminium scaffold towers.
All theory, covering aspects of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Riddor 95, the six pack (manual handling, PPE, Work Equipment, welfare, Fire precautions when dealing with towers, Electricity.
- Instructional Techniques.
- Live presentation of aspects of the health and safety awareness section by each of the students.
NB: The student will complete various segments of these, several times during the day.
- Theoretical Instruction on towers.
- Discussing in detail the different types of towers, their applications and the variations.
- Beaufort wind scales, SWL's.
- Pre use inspections, Prohibited uses.
- A demonstration by the Course Instructor of how to present and instruct students on the various Mobile Access Towers. Practical application by students of the using of various towers and practice in presenting the towers between the students.
- Practical Assessment of students instructing on a scaffold tower.
- Final practice on presenting the theoretical aspects of the course by all students, this would normally take up until lunchtime.
- Final assessment of theoretical presentation. This done in front of other students, two instructors.
