Modern Standard Arabic in Egypt

Learn the Arabic language while travelling and getting acquainted with Arabic Culture.

We offer an intensive course of 40 hours as follows :

- 5 days (Monday-Friday) x week x 4 hours study per day, per two weeks.

The proposed subjects:

a. Arabic language - Modern Standard; Beginners - Intermediate - Advanced levels.

b. Colloquial Egyptian (lebanese also available).

c. Combined Course (Modern + Colloquial).

A. Arabic language.

Course A1 – Read and write Arabic language. All levels.

Course A2/A3 - Colloquial Egyptian

For beginners followed by an advanced course through Egyptian movies, songs and poems.

Different linguistic tools are presented to our students:

An introduction to the basic linguistic instruments. Common phrases and discussions. Egyptian verbs divided by groups and developed in derived verbs and nouns and illustrated with examples. These texts are translated to English. An illustrated dictionary of the main common words used in daily life. Proverbs and poems. Egyptian songs and movies.

You have two options:

1. To learn colloquial Egyptian using Arabic characters (alef, baa…);

2. To learn colloquial Egyptian using transliterated characters (a, b, c….).

Course A4 – Arabic Grammar - Sentence structure. Advanced course. To improve Arabic level and listening/pronunciation.

B. Arabic Culture.

Course B1 - Introduction to the Arabic culture.

C. Contemporary Art.

Course C1 – Pharaonic Art over the centuries. A panoramic view of this rich civilization.

Course C2 – Contemporary art.


We offer :

Intensive courses in Cairo, Alexandria, Sharm or Hurghada, Egypt at College or hotel.

We can host groups of 15-20 students at a time. Individuals are also welcome, including families and smaller groups of between 2-3 students.

Cairo Guest-House (in the College) : You can book a single/double room, including 1/2 board. An extensive outdoor area is also available for daytime and sports activities. Younger candidates can take part in the Wadi El Nil Egyptian Scouts weekly meetings and Activity Programs. Cultural visits can also be arranged in advance.
Duration of the Intensive course in Cairo is between 10-14 days.
