Learning to play bridge.The course will be taught in a relaxed and friendly environment and from day one you will be encouraged to play cards. Through discussion and observation, individual needs will be assessed and the course tailored to meet those needs. Teaching methods include prepared hands to play; PowerPoint demonstration; Q & A; quizzes and recapitulation. All handouts will be provided including worksheets for optional homework practice.

• Know when, and what suit, to open as declarer.• Respond to declarer’s opening bid with and without support for partner.• State the point range needed by declarer to rebid one, two and three no trumps.• Consolidate card play.

Course programme
We begin by learning how to open the bidding in a suit and simple responses. We will then look at how to continue the auction with weak and strong balanced and unbalanced hands.
You do not need to purchase materials other than those for note-taking.
