Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship - Level 2

The Apprenticeship programme is for young people between the ages of 16 and 24 who wish to pursue a career in the motor vehicle industry. You will need to have grades C-G in English, Maths and ICT, and also be in employment within a motor vehicle workshop or dealership.

This Apprenticeship covers the repair and maintenance of the modern motor vehicle, which includes:

• Chassis technology
• Engine technology
• Transmission technology
• Vehicle electrical systems
• Routine servicing
• Employee Rights and Responsibilities
• Health and Safety
• Functional Skills associated with the motor vehicle industry

You will be working at your place of employment and you will be required to attend College for day release.

You will be assessed by online assessments, assessments of competence through workplace observations and written assignments.

On successful completion you will achieve the IMI Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Once you have the Level 2 qualification you can continue onto the Level 3 Apprenticeship programme.
