The MSc Corporate Financial Management is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and is aimed at graduates who have an interest in developing an in-depth specialist knowledge and critical understanding of the key aspects of corporate financial management, and in particular, who are looking to pursue a career in corporate or business finance.

This degree programme will help you develop a broad comprehension of the most important concepts in finance, with a strategic perspective. It is ideal for those interested in a future career in banking, personal finance, corporate finance or as an accountant, offering an excellent foundation for your career or for further study. As well as gaining a formal qualification, you will build a skills portfolio that you can show to future employers.

You will develop in-depth knowledge of corporate financial management by covering a range of modules in governance, social responsibility, risk management, banking regulation, corporate reporting, finance and performance management.

This course is designed so that students can complete over a 21-month period.

About this course

2:2 or above from a UK Bachelors degree, or equivalent qualifications.
International students additionally require an English language level equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or above with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.

Course programme

Course Programme


On-campus and online students will study for one year, which is divided into two semesters and the summer period for the dissertation. Students will study four modules, each worth 30 credits, and another module worth 60 credits, totalling 180 credits.


There are 2 core modules – corporate finance and corporate reporting. Students will then pick from one of 2 streams. Stream 1 modules are risk management and banking regulation and mergers and acquisitions. Stream 2 is business performance management and corporate social responsibility.


The course will cover the following core modules:

  • Corporate Finance (30 credits)
  • Corporate Reporting (30 credits)
  • Mergers and Acquisitions (30 credits)
  • Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility (30 credits)
  • Research Methods, Professional Development and Dissertation / Project (60 credits)
