You must achieve 180 credits in total, in order to attain the award of MSc Professional Practice (generic/badged award).

Modules usually attract 20 credits each; however some of our modules are double modules and therefore attract 40 credits each. As such the number of modules you study will depend on your choice. The Course Leader will help you with this selection.

This course comprises of option and core modules.

Option Modules:

You will study 120 credits of option modules.

The 120 credits can be made up of:

EITHER:
A maximum of 20 Level 6 credits (a 20 credit L6 module can be accessed as the first module on the course)
A minimum of 100 Level 7 credits (i.e. the rest of the modules on your course must be studied at Level 7)
OR:
120 credits at Level 7
Core Modules:
You will study two core modules at Level 7 (60 credits):
Research Methods (20 credits at L7) – you must pass this prior to enrolling on the Dissertation module
Dissertation (40 credits at L7) – this will be the final module in your course
Please note: Some modules are offered at both Levels 6 and Level 7. These are clearly identifiable as they have the same module title, with the academic level identified at the end of the title e.g.:
Diabetes: Improving Health Outcomes L6
Diabetes: Improving Health Outcomes L7
You cannot take a module such as this at both Levels 6 and 7. Your course leader will work with you to ensure the modules you have chosen to study are carefully mapped (this will take into account any modules you may have previously studied with us).
