Programme structure
The first part of the programme comprises four core units which all students take, and a number of optional units from which students may choose. These units are taught through lectures, practicals and supervised independent research. Research training through supported research activity and skills development is included. One of the optional units is a two-week field trip to Guatemala.
The final part of the programme consists of a research project, which involves self-directed original research leading to a written thesis. For further information on research projects, please see the School of Earth Sciences website.
