Introducing your course
With easy access to the New Forest National Park, Jurassic Coast, and South Downs, you will be perfectly located for fieldwork in diverse local habitats. We also offer the opportunity of exciting residential fieldtrips to Spain and Belize as part of the course.
You will be taught in our state-of-the-art Life Sciences facility by expert Biological Sciences staff who regularly influence ecological policy and decision-making around the globe. It is here that you will sharpen your research skills by carrying out a significant project in one of our research groups.
We have links to a number of local conservation organisations such as Marwell Wildlife, and work placements are available for ambitious and talented students.

Typical course content
The modules below provide an example of the typical course content for the Integrated Masters in Ecology and Conservation. This constitutes a series of compulsory and optional modules amounting to eight modular units each academic year. Optional modules can include Curriculum Innovation modules, offering you the chance to take modules outside of your chosen subject area, and a language module, which can count towards your degree.
Students who have not taken A-level Chemistry are also able to take Introduction to Chemistry, which will provide sufficient background and insight into the subject for further studies.
Certain 2nd or 3rd year optional modules may require specified pre-requisites modules from previous years.
