Museology, as an academic field of study, has grown significantly in the last few years. Advancements in the field, particularly in the areas of exhibit design and public engagement, present a panorama of vocational opportunities for persons with degrees in various disciplines.
Growth in the cultural sector has created a demand for trained professionals. This introductory course in Museology is aimed at providing students the necessary tools for beginning a career in this field.
The course is divided into four units; the course material will give students a better working knowledge of professional practices in Museology, stressing the contrast between the traditional museum view and new museological trends.
