Course description Whether you want to perform with a live band in an iconic venue, or sing solo on the West End, this course in Music Performance is a great place to begin, as you perfect your skills and develop a wider knowledge of the industry. You'll look at music theory and harmony, and learn how to apply these to both solo music performances and group work in an ensemble. All aspects of the course take a hands-on approach, with regular live performances and professional masterclasses. We'll also explore music for the moving image, where you'll learn how songs and scores accompany films and TV shows effectively. With a focus on music production techniques as well, and an in depth look at the sound and music industry, you'll develop a fantastic working knowledge of the music business

3. Entry requirements Before applying for this course, we'd like you to have at least 5 GCSE's at grade A*-C, including both English and Maths. A qualification in music, such as a GCSE or BTEC First would also be really useful! We'll also invite you down for an audition before we offer you a place, where you'll be able to show off your performance skills. Assessment method Although there will be some written assignments to check your understanding of musical theory, the vast majority of your assessment for this BTEC will be focused on rehearsals and live performances.
