Music Technology
This course is great for those who want to make music with modern technology. If you have some knowledge of music, awareness of the potential of IT and feel passionate about music then this course is for you.

What will I study?
You will concentrate on the principles and practice of music technology and also the popular music styles since 1910.
You will:
· Sequence MIDI.
· Sequence audio to produce a multi-track recording of a track of your choice.
· Arrange and remix tracks.
· Analyse music in terms of its use of music technology.
In the second year you will continue with the AS areas of study as well as delving into the development of technology-based music.

How is the course assessed?
All parts of this course are examined by external examiners and assessment is weighted towards coursework.

Activities:
· Rock bands.
· Blueprint Studio visit.
· Hallé Orchestra at The Bridgewater Hall.
· Jazz funk band plus performances.

What could I do next?
There are many important opportunities in higher education for those proficient in handling music technology.
