Introduction:
PC Additions are exciting new courses designed to give you that little extra. You may want to learn a new skill related to your work, or master a new talent in a day - if so PC Additions courses are ideal. At the end of this course you will obtain a product of recorded material, mastered on CDR that utilises both audio files and MIDI data.

Study Mode & Location:
This 10 week part-time evening course lasts for 2 hours per week. It will be held at Park Campus, Moor Park Avenue, Preston, PR1 6AS.

Course Content:
This course aims to help you obtain a basic understanding of music technology via the recording process. This will include practical experience of multitrack recording, mixing and mastering for a final recorded product. MIDI sequencing will be used in the creation of a soundscape whilst also being used to relate to video footage. You will have the opportunity to work individually and in groups using a multi-track studio and relevant recording equipment such as microphones and keyboards. You will however, need to provide the following equipment:

  • notebook.
  • pen.
  • blank CDRs.
  • headphones.

There are no assessments on this course.

Successful completion of this course may lead to other PC Additions courses or higher level studies.

How To Apply
You may need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser before enrolling on this course.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
