Want to learn cutting edge skills in music technology recording, sequencing and live sound? Our University of Arts London Awarding Body (UAL) Level 3 Diploma / Extended Diploma in Music Technology is taught by highly experienced tutors, who will teach you in industry standard recording studios, Mac suites and at the superb Slade Rooms Live Venue in the city centre. You will begin your first year of study on the UAL L3 Diploma and then once successfully completed you will progress to your 2nd year on the UAL L3 Extended Diploma, which is equivalent to three A Levels. The course specifically features skills in; Sequencing using software packages to compose, edit and mix music and soundtracks, The Music Industry; researching and exploring areas of the industry such as record labels, recording studios, live performances and the jobs associated with these and Sound Recording; learning how to set up and operate equipment in the College’s professional standard recording studios for the capture and processing of sound. Grading is through regular assessment of coursework and practical work, as well as portfolio building. The course is accredited by the University of the Arts London Awarding Body (UAL). City of Wolverhampton College is the only college in the Black Country, and one of only a few in the Midlands, to be accredited and offer qualifications from University of Arts London. UAL is a specialist awarding body offering up-to-date qualifications in the creative industries. It is owned by, and based within, University of the Arts London.

The course is project/assignment based and assessment is continuous throughout the year both in lessons, set work and through observations. Each unit will be assessed and awarded with a final grade of pass, merit or distinction. Some units may be subject to external assessment. What can I do next?
