Our University of Arts Awarding Body Level 2 Music Technology course will introduce you to practical skills in sound recording, composing and music technology, including the creation and production of music through the use of computer and sound recording systems and knowledge of the industry. The UAL Level 2 Diploma is a one year course, equivalent to four GCSEs, and is a foundation for students who wish to pursue a career in music or music technology. The course specifically features skills in sequencing, using software packages to compose, edit and mix music and soundtracks, the music business, and researching and exploring areas of the industry such as record labels, recording studios, live performances and the jobs associated with these. You will also learn how to set up and operate equipment in the college’s professional standard recording studios for the capture and processing of sound. The course is accredited by the University of the Arts London Awarding Body (UAL). City of Wolverhampton College is the only college in the Black Country, and one of only a few in the Midlands, to be accredited and offer qualifications from University of Arts London. UAL is a specialist awarding body offering up-to-date qualifications in the creative industries. It is owned by, and based within, University of the Arts London.
