Introduction:
This course covers various aspects of the music industry and is aimed at teaching both theoretical and practical aspects of this sector.

Study Mode & Location:
This one year course will be held at Preston College, Park Campus, Moor Park Avenue, Preston, PR1 6AS.

Course Content:
This course is for students interested in music and the music industry who wish to develop skills using a variety of sound equipment and software.

The qualification also explores types of employment available within the music industry.

• Understand the applications of Music Technology
• Use Midi Sequencing
• Use Recording Techniques
• Prepare for employment in the Music Technology Industry
• Audio Sequencing
• Multi-Track Recording Techniques
• Undertake in-studio administration

Assessment:
An NCFE external moderator will visit the college to assess the student's portfolios.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
The qualification has two main objectives, to assist eventual progression to employment or further education giving the opportunity to progress to the BTEC National Diploma in Music Technology/Popular Music.

How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.

Depending upon your circumstances, you may be able to study for FREE or at a reduced price.
