Course programme

What will I learn?

You will learn about: sequencing; sound recording; the music business; music theory; and composing There are additional qualifications in podcasting and functional skills included as part of the course

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through a combination of written assignments, tests, practical work and group projects

What may it lead to?

Students can progress onto a Level 3 Music course In order to do this, you will need to achieve a Merit at Level 2 and pass the additional functional skills / GCSE qualifications

Entry Requirements

You will need: five GCSEs at grade D (including Maths and English) or a Level 1 qualification and appropriate functional skills grades Entry onto the course subject to a successful interview, audition, test, and attendance at our summer school

Additional Information & Other Costs

Composition workshops and guest speakers are invited to talk about their roles in the industry as part of the course Many students make good use of the Students' Union to attend concerts and gigs
