Course programme
You will learn about: music sequencing; sound recording; the sound & music business; computer music systems; special subject investigation; live sound; listening skills for music technologists; acoustics; and digital audio concepts You will also study additional qualifications in podcasting and functional skills as part of the course
How will I be assessed?Through a combination of written assignments, tests, practical work, group projects and exams
What may it lead to?You can progress to an HND in Music Technology, go into a degree-level programme, or gain employment in the music industry
Entry RequirementsYou will need five GCSEs at grade C (including English and Maths) or a Level 2 Music Diploma at Merit grade (or an equivalent qualification) Entry onto the course is subject to an interview and attendance at our compulsory summer school
Additional Information & Other CostsTrips are offered to the British Music Experience and the Royal Festival Hall Costs of additional trips will have to be met by the students Students are encouraged to undertake a two week work placement in the second year of the course
