NATIONAL DIPLOMA IT (NETWORKING)

Course Aims:
A BTEC National Diploma is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about Computer Networking and completing an industry-recognised qualification you will develop the general IT skills you need to start a career.The course will provide the learner with the skills required for computer networking including the Cisco vendor qualification, problem solving, project management, systems development and web design.It is equivalent to three A levels which means when you have finished the course you can choose whether to get a job straight away or go into higher education first.

Progression:
BTEC National Diplomas are valued by employers and higher education (universities and colleges). Students go into careers in many IT related disciplines as programmers and technical analysts and progress to professional status in their chosen field. Awarding Body:
Edexcel: BTEC National Diploma IT Practitioners.

Exam:
Most units are assessed by a series of assignments, applying theory, concepts and acquired knowledge to realistic scenarios.

Qualification:
BTEC National Diploma IT Practitioners (Networking). The National Diploma is seen as an equivalent to 3 A Levels.

Level:
Level 3

Duration:
A two-year course of study (equivalent to 3 full A Levels)
