Course programme

Level: National 5

It is important for anyone wishing to study at West Lothian College to be sufficiently fluent in English before starting a course. If English is your second language you will need to have National 5 ESOL or equivalent for all NQ, HNC and HND study.

We run ESOL classes from National Level 3 to National Level 5 levels. All applicants will be assessed before being placed in a group that is at the right level for them. This year for the first time we are running our classes in partnership with the West Lothian Council ESOL team. They will be running beginners classes up to Access 2 level. All applicants will be placed in the appropriate level class either at College or in the Community after assessment.

Classes are delivered morning, afternoon and in the evening dependant on demand. We try to offer classes at as many different times as possible to fit in with your working patterns.

With a vibrant, modern and innovative learning environment, the College is well equipped to ensure that students have the best facilities and resources to help develop their learning and skills. The College is an essential provider of a vast range of courses all focused on developing relevant skills for employment and to enhance current career prospects for those who are already working. For 2016-17 it was established that 86% of HN graduates at the College progressed into employment or further study.
