What I would highlight:
I attended the National Security College's (formally PSD Training) full residential course which encompassed 4 individually offered courses -FAW, CP, PSD and PSD Livefire. The instructors were very competent and experienced SME's in their respective fields. The courses were set at challenging but achievable paces and were presented predominately using the kinesthetic (learn by doing hands on) method which led to better muscle memory for the weapons handling and drills. The students were also given very frank assessments of their perceived strengths and weaknesses on the taught subject matter as well as their ability to participate and contribute in a team. These assessments were based in part on instructor observation as well as peer reviews -which provided valuable insight for those who were not aware of how they were being perceived. The courses imparted the required technical information, but the instructors were also able to supplement "theory" with advice on procedures gleaned from their own professional experiences. The location and accommodations were absolutely first rate. The training environment offered a variety of man-made and natural terrain for different scenarios without having to waste time on travel to locate appropriate locations. The grounds had enough property for large scale training exercises (including vehicle maneuvers and vehicle convoys) with enough man-made structures in close proximity to each other for realistic urban scenarios. "Off campus", our field assignments and exercises were directed in environments that required interaction with the public. Driving, advances, surveillance, etc... was carried out in real time. Doing the training in a secure location where you can be stopped in place and corrected is one thing, but participating in a live field exercise, though very stressful at times, gives the student a real sense of what to expect, and provides endless opportunities for students to have to adapt to the situation.

What I would highlight:
NSC was one of the best course providers i have came across, i have been working in the hostile environment security sector for 4 years, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and i have attended 2 other courses, too which are no comparison, all the instructors are on active duty, so they are teaching upto date skills required. As a student you are treated as a customer, and your opinion is valued, along with input to most of the lessons where required. All equipment is provided, and of a good standard. Value you for money is what most of us look for in training courses, and i can assure each and everyone of you, your money is well spent with NSC. You will not be dissapointed.

What I would highlight:
Overall, the course was very good. The instructors interesting, the material covered, relevent. overall, very good.
i would recommend that the school use a placement service for the students. After all that training, I shouldn't be sitting here, because I reported an incident to Aegis in Iraq. No one yells at me like a private, and blows spittle in my face because I told him we had to recon a route he wanted to take. For half an hour he called us cowards and every other name in the book. I stepped outside to defuse the situation and he followed me out, got his face two inches from mine, and that's when the spit flew. I put one finger in his chest and firmly pushed him out of my personal space and let him know what I would do if he ever talked to me like that again. I report the incident and am relieved of my post as LSO of Al Asad.
You are in a position to find and move a former student into another posting, knowing the circumstances.

I enjoyed every minute of the course, it is interesting and keeps you captured at all times no dull or board moments. The trainers keep the training exiting with their great personalities and sence of humor. If you ever think of doing a SIA close protection course, the NSC is the place to go. Just watch out there is a ninja watching you. Everything they teach is easy to remember and to use because of the way they teach it. You will not only use it in your work but also in your day to day life. I highly reccomend it to everyone.
