A two year day release course (40 days per year), the National Certificate is aimed at providing students with an introductory level of knowledge in the basic principles of Building Services Engineering. The course focus is on the design, installation, maintenance and management of a building's services systems i.e. Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning.

QUALIFICATIONS & PROGRESSION:
Upon successful completion the learner receives a National Certificate in Building Services Engineering and the progression route to the Higher National Certificate in Building Services Engineering.
Requirement
At the discretion of the centre and subject to pre-course interview. Candidates ntering the course would ideally have the following: -Minimum of 4 standard grades at level 3 or above to include either maths or physics -An NC in another related discipline -Must be employed in the building services industry Consideration will also be given to candidates with no formal qualifications but who have experience of building engineering services applications. This programme is typically, although not exclusively, for new entrants into the industry, normally as an engineering technician and funded by a training provider e.g. BEST, (Building Engineering Services Training), although access will also be available to others with requirements to have a basic understanding of the principles of Building Engineering Services.
