NC Engineering Practice

Course Aims:
This course provides a broad base of first-level engineering principles, giving you an excellent blend of mechanical and electrical skills. Practical in nature, you will learn how to read drawings, measure engineering items and manufacture them. You will also develop good communication and team working skills.

Course Content:
Marking Out. Introductory Workshop Skills. Machine Shop Work: Turning, Milling, Drilling & Fitting. Fabrication. Welding. Assembly Skills. Electrical Fundamentals. Computing in Engineering. Design & Make. CAD. Mathematics.

Progression Opportunities:
Successful candidates may progress onto HNC/degree level study or alternatively complete the Foundation Modern Apprenticeship.

Career Potential:
Any engineering apprenticeship or traineeship.

This course is assessed by means of continuous assessment.
