About this course

You must have a keen interest in, and an enthusiastic approach towards, the travel and tourism industry. You must also be currently working at a Level 1 (Foundation) standard, towards Level 2 standard (ie Intermediate Level). All students will be interviewed to assess their eligibility for the course.

Introduction:
The Airport Passenger Service Agents Level 2 is an ideal qualification for individuals who wish to seek employment as an airport passenger services agent or for individuals who wish to enhance their studies in Travel & Tourism.

Study Mode & Location:
This 20 week part-time course lasts for 3 hours per week. It will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Course Content:
On this course you will study:

  • Research the airport industry and the role of the airport passengers service agent.
  • Airport knowledge required by airport passenger service agents.
  • Deal effectively with the processing of aircraft passengers.
  • Identify boarding procedures for aircraft passengers.
  • Identify the procedures for decontrolling aircraft passengers.
  • Procedures involved in disembarkation of aircraft passengers.


Assessment:
Students will complete a portfolio of work covering all learning outcomes. Assessment will be ongoing throughout the course and include role-plays, class activities, presentations and assignments.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Successful candidates will be able to pursue employment as Air Passenger Service Agents.

You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
