Entry requirements: Applicants should have achieved GCSE at 4 grade in English and mathematics. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate the potential to act independently and safely. All candidates must be interviewed, and receive a satisfactory DBS (Disclosure Barring Service).Direct entry is considered based on the applicants experience in the sector and completion of a skills test.

Course programme
Overview of the course:
Class work including demonstrations, discussions and practical work. Subject information is given via lectures, videos, visits, speakers, handouts and demonstrations. You will need to attend placement for a minimum of 1 day or 6 hours per week. You will also be observed by an assessor whilst attending placement to meet the competency element of the course.
Topics:
To complete the qualification learners must gain 32 credits in total. Some topics include; Curriculum, supporting pupils with particular needs, safeguarding and health and safety.
