Students will be expected to: Research their own ideas for articles. Write their own articles. Arrange and conduct interviews where appropriate. Take relevant photographs and use software to manipulate images where necessary. Design the layout of their own page in the Magazine. Act as proof readers for other students work. Work as a team to produce an interesting magazine which will attract young people. Suitable for: Young People.

About this course

We will be particularly looking for young people who have a specific interest in English, Journalism, Art or Media and a genuine enthusiasm to participate in this experience. Young people interested in this work experience must complete an application form and will be required to attend a selection interview.

Course programme

An exciting new work experience opportunity is now available at Newcastle City Learning Centre (CLC) which will enable your students to gain an additional GCSE Grade B in Interactive Media.

This project will be an alternative to the standard work experience placements. Media industry placements are popular with young people but are limited in terms of availability.

Design IT

Will be an opportunity for young people to work with professional media specialists to produce a young people’s magazine. This creative work experience has been designed so that all participants will be exposed to a range of technologies and media genres. They will work with a number of creative writers/journalists, professional photographers and designers.
